Question about aiming projectors

I just installed my projectors and need to know about aiming them. At what distance from a wall should I be and what height for the beam cutoff?

Thanks.

I read something about that in the owners manual, something about a dot in the center of the lens and measuring to the ground. Check it out.

My owner's manual is for halogen lights, would it be the same for projectors?

The 2013 owners manual can be found here

On my stock height 2010 Screw, the center of the projector was 39.5" from the ground. You should get your cutoff to be 2" lower, at 37.5" when the truck is 25' from your aiming wall.

Thanks so much!

2" down at 25 feet is the DOT spec, but it really doesn't take into account the starting height. So the same spec would be used for a sedan for example who's lights might be 20" or 24" off the ground. I would start with that recommendation of 2" at 25' , and you might end up working your way down if you get flashed at all.

I watched your video in the other thread and you could use that red car in your driveway to help you aim as well. pull behind it and get your cutoff to be across the trunk & just below the side mirror at 10 or 15 feet. When passing oncoming traffic the sweet spot for the upper cutoff is somewhere between the top of their dash and their neck.
