NEW RECON CCFL Projector headlights
#21
I have been researching retrofitting and contacted theretrofitsource.com. Below is what they suggested as a kit. retails for $315 then whatever add-ons you do.
Bi-Xenon Morimoto Mini D2S Stage III Kit:
Mini D2S 3.0 Bi-xenon projectors (LHD)
Morimoto Ballasts
Morimoto Bulbs
H13/9008 MotoControl Relay Harness
Bi-Xenon Monograms (by request)
Shrouds/Bezels of your choice (Again, Apollo 2.0 would be a solid choice)
Starting at $315 shipped free in the US.
This is probably what I'm going to end up doing. I'm just trying to find a decent set of OEM headlights to start the project.

In my experience, pretty much all aftermarket headlights and tail lights come from the same couple of factories in China. You might as well just get the cheapest set you can find if that's the route you want to take. Use some good RTV on the joints when you get them and hope for the best.
And it's even worse when folks decide to put PnP Hid capsules into these things - they were never designed for it. Horrible output.
BTW OP - "40%" brighter based upon what - they are already > 60% dimmer so it's still a crapshoot, lol.
As others are recommending - retrofit. There is a Staggering amount of good info on this site to help with just that.

Good luck!
