I wanted some fog lights that would match my bars more than the halogen bulbs did. So I got with my go to LED dealer (F150LEDs) and got their led fog bulbs. They came quickly and packaged well. This is the easiest install you'll ever do. ha No tools needed at all.
They put out a "cool" light that's not overbearing. They match my bars much better. :thumber: Thanks, www.F150LEDs.com !!

My condolences - those:

1. Are No longer fogs
2. Have a Horrible beam pattern; spotty & narrow
3. Are Glare-happy - hence not good for oncoming traffic
4. Are Crap quality ( the usual cheap chinglish junk they typically sell - you can find exactly the same bulb fer far less on fleabay )
5. Don't shoot the messenger - this should surprise no one - it's been discussed ad nauseum fer years - nothing has changed.

Hate to jump on the band wagon here but the comment about these no longer being foglights is probably true. Without actually seeing these in person it is difficult to know for sure. I have seen far too many trucks and cars that have done the same conversion and ended up with "glare lights" instead of foglights. Hope this isn't the case for you.

I'm Going to have to agree with all of this sadly. MGD may be brash BUT he tends to be correct. In this case, those look like terrible fog lights, and look like they might blind me while I'm oncoming. Something I did not appreciate the other night when I had to make a expedient EVAC from the mountains while being snowed on.

LEDs do NOT throw light properly in halogen housing. Plain and simple as that. Nothing wrong with having LED headlights or fog lights. There is something wrong with having them in halogen housing.

The problem I think you have, which most people have, is it sounds like you wanted something to match your bars. That's not unreasonable at all. I wanted the same, but when I couldn't find a decent output white beam that didn't blind oncoming drivers I went the opposite route. I went with 2500k yellow high output halogens for my fogs.

Note that there are plenty of low output white LEDs that will match you bars and not throw enough light to be a problem on the road, but they turn your fogs into accent lights rather than functional.

This topic comes up alot on this forum. Throwing light incorrectly all over the road is dangerous and when you know you are doing it, it becomes negligent.

Try not to take it personally. No one is trying to make it.

I ran a LED kit in my halogen headlights for a year and aimed them ALL THE WAY down and never gave anyone problems.
I looked at them from an oncoming cars point of view at night, and they were fine.
The problem is 99.9% of people who run pnp kits in their halogen lamps have no clue how low they're really supposed to aim them. Once you aim them low enough to be acceptable to oncoming drivers, the beam reach is alittle too short for highway night driving @75mph, yet everything right in front of the vehicle is super bright, and that's when you can see the real weakness of PnP's in a halogen reflector bowl.
And the high beams in the headlight kit SUCK and thats putting it nicely

Wow, didn't know I was on the fog light natzi forum. Good grief... Apparently I should have reworded my OP.


I replaced my factory halogen fog bulbs with aftermarket F150LED led's. I'm not sure this still means I have "fog lights" but I do have bulbs in my fog housings that match my led bars. So, I'm a happy customer; so I posted this, because afterall, I was after an affordable, easy "fog light" replacement that would work well and match my led bars. :-)

I do not think the intent was to beat you up, but to point out the short comings as they relate to leds in halogen housings. It really would not matter to most here if this did not effect oncoming traffic, but it certainly is going to based on the pics you posted. You do not see this type of response when you are posting about taillights typically because we are not going to be blinded by most of them. I did say most I have seen a few that were way too bright.

Back to my point, in order not to blind, your going to have to aim them all the way down which provides no beneficial light, but they will match your headlights if that was truely your only intent.
