Default KC Daylighter HID Retrofit

Changed out my 100w KC Daylighter bulbs for some 35w 5000k HID bulbs from Jon_To. Went pretty quick since I had all the wires ran and have done a bunch of HID conversions before.

They take a couple seconds to warm up when cold, but are about as bright as my 9" Lightforces

that link didn't work either. But thanks for posting the pics. I had always wanted to do this if I ever got a set of used KC's. How's teh light output/beam pattern on the road at night?

Output is about the same as with halogen bulbs, I had spot beams, and they're still spot. But since the HID bulb is a little longer I have some more scattering up close. It's not as precise as it would be in a true HID housing, more of a 80% spot / 20% flood beam

shout out to Jon_To for providing the HID kit

yea i know it wont be as good as a true hid offroad light. But if i go this route, im going to get the fog/driving beam pattern as I dont want the pencil/spot beam pattern. I dont do any offroading and most of the roads around here aren't flat enough where a spot/pencil beam would be effective.

I would highly recommend it for that. Its probably close to double the light output vs the 100w bulbs. The only drawback is the warmup time.
