[left]Was just wondering what led you recommend. I drive a 2009 F150 lariat.

If I were doing led pnp, which I wouldnt, it would be the DD SL1. The guy you quoted always flaunted his were better than sliced bread, and apparently he got booted off this site, because his username changed and he hasnt posted in a while. DD based those bulbs off the 15 - 17 F150. Persoanlly, I d still do an HID retrofit, because properly done will outperform pnp led of any kind.

I just installed Diode Dynamics SL1 LED bulbs in my 2015 with stock Halogen housings. I replaced the highs & lows, and now waiting on the fogs to arrive. This company did their homework, and the results are amazing! I made sure to adjust mine downward a bit, and I have not yet been flashed by any oncoming drivers. As others mentioned, please make sure to avoid cheap LED bulbs/ kits as they will do more harm than good. The SL1 bulbs are not cheap but like I said before, they are amazing!

These LEDs you dont need anything special with correct? You can just install them in the OEM halogen housing with all the current wiring.

Where can you get a HID retrofit?

Do it yourself or there are numerous companies that build professionally. Raptor Retrofit is the first that comes to mind because they focus on F150.

Correct, they are completely plug and play. I just installed the fogs as well. These bulbs are amazing, and work great in the halogen housings!

There is a thread at the top of this page, but also check out hidplanet.com and if you're on facebook, headlight junkies page is good resource for retrofit info... just not pnp led.

Check out Headlight Revolution as well as their YouTube channel. They have a ton of information on HID, LED, do's, don'ts and some brand comparison. I was highly impressed with my change to the Supernova V3's for my fogs. Major difference! Same cutoff but much whiter and brighter light.

From what I've learned, in a standard reflector housing (not projector) HID's or LED's will work much better than factory if you get the right brands. Avoid the super cheap Ebay stuff for headlights. Those are where you will see more glare as their light pattern is often different than stock and may even have less output than the factory halogen bulbs.

Bottom line, do the research and see what you like best. I just found Headlight Revolution to have some of the best information and testing as well as videos.
