Just because it has a high price doesn't mean its a better product, bud.
I had a hid kit from ddm for 5 years and never had a problem with it. I sold the truck and am still using the ballasts in my wife's caddy. They are now 7 years old. Same with me and my wife's bikes.. I paid 25.00 for both ballasts from ddm, though i hate them now because customer service is a bunch of dycks.
I will admit, they (morimoto) do make very nice stuff and good quality...

40% off and free shipping through the 31st.
they say they have a lifetime warrenty on the balaast and bulb. who knows.
Kit looks good. Better then the ebay stuff that looks cheap and is cheap
the only other good website I could see was retro-solutions but they were more expensive. I might be the first to try this company for an f150 but I couldnt pass it up.

I have RECON heads and tails. Tails are great.... the heads are rather confusing, maybe cause I've never messed with healights. I'm in the process of getting HID's in my projectors, but I have to cut/shave a piece of metal to get the H1 to fit in. But i've been reading that H1's are slightly to long to fit in the projector and it will melt. Doesn't make sense, since HID doesnt get as hot as stock.. right? Also the RECON projectors are not made for HID thats why that piece of metal is blocking the H1 bulb? Or its just not DOT approved?? No clue.. anyways my other side of the brain hurts due to the fact that I can't connect HID kit to turn on my lows in the first place, I bought them already wired up with HID is the highs. If anyone has HID in there RECON projectors I need to see some pics of wiring, it aint workin for me!!

You need to get a voltmeter and wiring schematic for your truck dude. Seems to me that your making something very easy be very difficult. When all elese fails, remove everything and start from scratch, best advice i can give you. No, those projector headlights are for off road use only unless there is a dot stamp on it somewhere. It wont melt the damn projector its metal and glass! I dont know why people keep saying that.
