opposed to just LED bulbs. has anyone tried these yet?

Ditto. I can't imagine anyone here being foolish enough to drop $500 bucks on two little LED's and a shell that probably cost all of $20 to produce if that so the police can read your license plate better. Accomplish the same thing for under $10 with far more reasonably priced lighting if you really are trying to do the authorities a favor.

Personally I wouldn't even spend that $10 on it but if you must a lot of guys here like these:

The seller is probably low on them or ran out and didn’t want to take it down for whatever reason so they jacked up the price to something no one would ever pay.

just stick a couple Sylvania zevo bulbs in there and accomplish the same thing. The zevo are at least made well, will last and have great output.

The ones listed are likely cheap Chinese junk.

this is the only reasonable explanation. If not, there are 43 idiots who I need to find since they like throwing money away.

oh wow - yeah that wasn't the price when i posted this. i think about $12 IIRC.
