Default Could use some advice before I make a big attempt.

I thought about doing the 4x4leds since I've heard nothing but good things, but I started doing some retrofit research and it doesn't look real hard. I went to TRS and looked up the costs. This kit doesn't look bad. It also got good reviews.

Anyone tried to do a retrofit with no experience and it turn out well. I really want the cutoff and brightness from the HID in a projector, but I'm nervous about the process. Anyone advice in regarding what to do or parts is welcome. I'm not a pricey guy who needs the best, just something better than my crappy halogens. Thanks!

Wow, no one? I'm kinda troubled that no one knows. someone has to have tried without knowing anything. I need info, like can any ballast work with any wire harness? Will it matter if I do 75w instead of 35w?

I did my own retrofit using all TRS. In the long run, I hated the cut-off line down the road. I took out my retrofits and put in aftermarket housings (I have an 07) and installed 4x4truckleds 9008/H13 kit. I think it is hands down better. No glare, no vehicles flashing me and a bright usable spread of light. I have tried numerous halogen bulbs, my retrofit and now the LED bulbs. I will never look back to halogen or retrofits again, mainly due to the work and cost of a retrofit.

That is coming from a guy that lives in a very rural area and its always dark either going home or to work (except summer) on my 22 mile commute.

Just an example, but I think in the 09-14 section is a pretty good review thread in your 12th gen housings of LED bulbs.

Think I'll just stick with the 4x4leds then if it's gonna be a pain to do.
