lksmith95, those aren't quality projectors. They will be better than nothing but for a quality setup you will have to build them yourself. Meaning buy the kit from TRS, then bake your current headlights in the oven to losen the seal, mount the projector from TRS inside, and reseal. It's a little more involved but that's the quick.

It's not useless it's just not a quality set. To someone who's built retrofit setups or had them, yes you wasted the money. Some people don't care about the light output and just want the look.

A PnP kit isn't useless... as long as you have a good housing to start with. People with the 2004+ headlights are a good candidate to start with PnP kits. Usually, PnP kits are someone's entry into trying new things with their lights.

Ebay housings are not designed to use HIDs nor are they designed well. They're mostly fashion.

i spent $110 though.. thats not pocket change to a 17 year old. is it not gonna be possible to use this kit? i can stand to spend money on projectors and shrouds and headlamps if i don't have to buy another HID kit. also.. it appears I'm going to have to buy headlamps separate? where do i do that?

i dont think iv seen HIDs so dim in our housings before, iv been running jon_to's lights in my truck for like 4-5 months and they are atleast 2x better then what your truck is doing, but i got the stock housings. im not sure if its the aftermarket lights you got that are causing trouble, or you didn't seat the lights in the housings all the way.

if all you wana do is clean up the outer edge of the beams then get projectors.

i don't care about the outer edge, i want them to be wider/brighter. so is there something wrong with my setup? they aren't as bright as they should be?
