I can't use my high beams because the heat of the bulb melts the lens. Luckily I noticed this before I melted a hole! These headlights look very cool and are unique but are flawed. If your in the market for new headlights, please take this into consideration if your looking at the Spyder smoked projector headlights.
I was just about to purchase a set of these from a member on this site when I came across your post. Thanks!

I have a set on my 2012 with 35W HIDs in them low beams. They were put in about 5 months ago and I have only been satisfied with them! Oh except the halos aren't very bright.

I dont care for mine...I think the light output is less than optimum...but I think my eyes are going for night driving ..spend 45 min on phone with xtralights and they assured me they are quality and everyone they sell to are happy....weird...

No problems here with HIDs or with the Halogen High Beams

I have the black ccfl halo spyders on my '09 FX4 and they are great. Other than having problems with water proofing the ccfl inverter snap connections they are fine. If it matters, I am running 35 watt HIDs in the low beams.

Default Bulbs

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some guidance on what bulbs I can and cannot use in the Spyder projector headlights?

Here is a link to the one's I bought if anyone would be so kind as to let me know what type of bulbs I can and cannot use, I'm new to this.
