Just curious, why is it that most people that do HID kits in these trucks do a 8-10k system? I thought the purpose of going to HID was for visibility improvement. OEM HID output ranges from 4300-5000k. Why is it (if anything other than personal preference) that people put such a high kelvin rating in these trucks- thereby reducing the effect of the HID kit install? Hell, if 10000k is what someone wants, why not save a buck and install just a set of blue APC bulbs? The visibility reduction will be about the same and you save yourself about $100.

8000k in HIDs are still very bright. But I think a lot of people are looking for the lights with a little bluish tint to them. The less k, the whiter they are. So they find that happy medium, where they still get the brightness, yet have a nice look. I like them.

I wanted a blue light to help complete the black and blue look of the truck for starters. My PIAA's have a blue LED when they are nhot on so the combo is kick a** in person. Then, I did not to be one of those guys with the lights that blind anyone coming at them. Aiming them down only does so much, the reflectors are just not designed for the light output. Finally, mine are crazy birght and I have the 10k. When I hit my PIAA's I cannot tell they are on unless they are on the fog setting since that has a yellowish tint to it.

$.02 is all I am really looking for on this. I know personally that I installed a 6000k kit on my wife's 2007 Mazda6 and I think that it is too blue and I am going to replace it with a 4300k kit.

im looking in to hid and I know with my truck lifted its just going to blind people. So the less brighter would be my guess?
