All things HID here!!!

Well, It took me longer to get them hooked up than I planned as I've been working 14hrs a day since the package arrived, but I finally have the Philips 6000k kit up and running. Installation was a snap, though I had to be creative with ballast placement as there are now three of them in each side I also trimmed back the plastic cavity behind the lights to make more space for the rats nest of plugs and cables I have now.
It's hard to see where the extra money goes with the Philips kit, costing almost $200 more than the cheap kits I have in my fogs and high beams everything looks very similar. The color from the Philips kit is slightly less blue than the 6000k xtremehids I have, but despite (only) being 45w compared to the 55w I am used to, they seem much brighter. The Philips ballasts make a bit of a hum noise which the others do not, but it can only be heard with the hood up and the engine off.
I'm going to try adjust the lamps outwards a little as the projectors have such a narrow field of view, but I expect I will have to do some cutting as the adjusters won't turn any farther... All things considered, I'm happy with my latest purchase

question for all you guys doing retrofits...so I am trying to educate myself as much as i can before i jump into the project. From reading on here and watching some videos im confused about re-seating the lens back onto the housing one the retrofit is done....SO ive read on here that a lot of guys take off all of the old permaseal and then apply a new bead of silicone to seal it up. However on a lot of the DIY vid's, they just reheat the permaseal and use it to seal the lens.... so my question is can this be done with the ford permaseal, or is it required to remove all of the old sealant.....also, for those who completely removed the old permaseal, which silicone did you guys go with that have held up the best?
thanks..
thanks..

The ford permaseal cannot be reused. It has to be tediously scraped out of the groove and whatever is left on the lens.
I use OCI Butyl Rubber Glue....comes in a ribbon/roll.

Just installed my 8000k hid's, and when i turned the highbeams on, only the passenger side came on, the driver side stayed normal. Any ideas as to why this could be?

Devil's advocate
Got both of mine from DDM, they were $35 at the time. Every component is still perfect over 2 years later and that included some hard winter. The people who have problems don't know how to install them. JMO.
