Just as an opener- There's sooo many threads on HID input and opinions that its getting ridiculous. This thread is stickied and will be for all questions/comments/opinions on HID color, type, brand, etc. that you might have.

Unless its a specific problem with a kit you are having that you need help with, keep all HID discussion here. One centralized location.

55W 6k hi/low H13 on my headlights with a relay kit (real useable high beams)
35W 5k 9005 kit in my fogs

DDMtuning not a hicup or flicker in over 2 years! Flawless

I have:

55w slimline digital 5000k DDMTuning HID's in my wife's Mazda 6.

I LOVE the output but have had only marginal (at best) luck with mine. In 9 months I have already swapped out both bulbs due to not firing and now its happening again. I think new ballasts are in my future. NOT AN EASY OPERATION WHEN YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE FRONT BUMPER TO GET THE HEADLIGHTS OUT.

Oh, and I also have the external wiring harness that was recomended with the 55w kit but its currently not hooked up because it seemed to cause more problems with my already sometimes inoperative ballasts.

I have a question. I am a novice who is just starting to do some mods to my 2003 stock Screw. It started with a new Kenwood stereo and since then I have put ona new billet grill, new speakers, fixed my overhead console, and installed new headlights. My list keeps growing and I am having a lot of fun sprucing up the truck.

My problem is with my headlights. I installed a set of Spyder Halo LED headlamp assemblies a couple of weeks ago. While the look of the assemblies is absolutely awesome on my Screw, the light output is significantly worse than my stock headlights. I realize now if I had spent a few more bucks, I would have gotten a better performing set. Too late for regrets.

I have since ordered 2 sets (hi/low) of HID kits from Jon_To in another part of this site. They are 35w 6000k H3 low beam, H1 hi beam. My question is, can anyone recommend a smart way to mod these assemblies, if it can even be done.

This link is to a You Tube video showing how to install the assembly. At the 2:43 mark, pause the video and you can get a good look at the back of the assembly. This is where I would have to make the mod.

Is this something that can be done by a rookie like myself or will I have to take it into a shop. The cheapest price I found at a reputable local shop is $100 for both sets of HIDs, but I have already spent enough money on these lights and I am trying to stop the bleeding. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

LENN : I had a similiar problem with my wifes Navigator, ended up being the relay plug wasn't plugged in well. DDM products have been real reliable on all my vehicles and motorcycles...and the bikes take a beating!

Yeah, that's what I thought it was... but as stated, I removed the connections for the harness and just installed them with the car's harness and I am still having issues. Not nearly as frequently but they're still there.

I have 35w 6000k Bi-xenon Heads and ordered 35w 6000k fogs from Jon_To at Third Gear Performance. No problems at all and service was great. My family has 3 other kits, all 5000k, from him and all have worked flawlessly.

I have the 55w 8000k Hi/Low kit with slim ballasts from DDM. The light output is amazing. The only problem I've had is everyonce in awhile my pass side doesn't come on unless I off/on my lights.

Has anyone done a 04-08 retrofit yet? I saw a post recently with an older style retrofit, but nothing for 04-08...

Can anyone recommend a HID kit for my '07? Is 6K the norm? I'm looking for something which will offer quality, but not break the bank.
