I've spoken with a lot of them and theyre very willing to work with you - as the owner. If you have components, they'll do it - no issues.

It would be worth asking them what they would charge - and the gents on here that specialize in f150 housings, I'd bet they'd be more than happy to lend a hand to help out, and you have the assurance that they work with these housings all the time - they have it down.

I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to spend a grand, we just gotta see who is willing/capable of doing it. I'm sure they'll chime in.
I am kicking myself for not realizing how hard or painful I should have realized it was going to be. I don't want to say "screw it" and sell the whole thing as I've really wanted this.

Regardless, one member did get in touch with me, so I continue to wait patiently. I just pray I can get this done without terrorizing my wallet too much, and still end up with some amazing night piercing lighting!

*Newbie post*
What setup will give me the best color match to that of my rigid led bar?
I understand that the watts change the color also, its not bulb. How much shorter of a life span does the 55w blast cause? Im torn between a 35w and 55w setup. Thanks

55w will damage some of the smaller projectors and burn out faster while washing out the bulbs. 35w is plenty for 90% of the people, especially on the road. 5000k will be your best bet for matching a LED bar, it's a pure white light.

Also, I hope you're doing a retrofit. Just throwing in HID bulbs to your factory housing will ruin them and have terrible output.

100% absolutely. I hate people who have pnp headlights. Cheap, blinding pieces of crap; it's all they are.

I was one of those idiots before... now that I've learned my lesson, I will never dare use another pnp kit!

So a 35w and 5000k would be best to match a led bar? And yes the season I asking is because I'm doing a full retrofit with morimoto mini H1 projectors

I've read tons of stuff on aftermarket headlights, and without having to try to go on this thread to find my specific question I'll just ask now. I am wanting to do a retrofit with either morimoto mini h1 or fx-r. I've never done a retrofit and have very little mechanical experience. I would prefer to not do the fx-r out of convenience, but if the output is that much better then I am not opposed. I'm new to the forum so if I say or ask anything dumb give me a little grace! I found a guy named JXR who did light output comparisons with the mini h1 and fx-r and honestly they looked the same. The fx-r had a smidgen more width but that was the only difference. In fact the mini looked brighter to me. Any help or pictures yall could show me would amazing! Thanks yall!

Oh and I want to do 5000k on my 2012 fx2

The Mini H1 is an easy retro, no cutting of the buckets required. If you run any aux lights (KC's, Lightbar, etc) then I'd do the Mini. If your only lights are headlights, and you don't mind cutting, then the FX-R has a slightly better output. 5000k is a great all-around color for headlights.

Agreed. If you want the BRIGHTEST lighting, just go with the 4300k XB's. 4300k is close to factory color temp. Those are the ones I have, and can't wait to see the brightness.

Awesome. Thank yall for the input! I'm not running any aux lights but for my first retro I am definitely going for ease of install. If I put them in then realize I made a mistake then I can just go get fx-rs. I will post before and after pics in here or a new thread whenever I do the retro
