QUICK QUESTIONS: ordering soon and need help. I'm about to order some DDM 55w 6000k HIDs, and have 3 quick questions.
1. Is it worth the extra $20 to get high/lows, or should i just get low beams? Because I've heard of high beams messing up before with these kits.
2. If I get 55w heads, do I need 55w fogs to match the heads perfectly, or will the 35w match up?
3. If I get the 55w, do I need the optional HID harness to get them to work?
Thanks for any help!

Ok good to hear, no highs and 35w fogs would save me alot of money haha. Will the 35w fogs match 55w heads? I just want to make sure the color will match up even and all that.

Just call me sean. Really
If you get 6k heads 55w, get 5k 35w fogs. The 55w washes out the color a bit. So your 35w 6k will be bluer than a 55w 6k. The 55W 6k will be closer in color to a 35w 5k

Ah ok good point didn't think of that. Thanks! I may pull the trigger on the heads tomorrow and may get them in and try them and then get fogs soon after. I have silverstars in my fogs now so they're already pretty white

Can someone answer me this.. with ddm 55w headlights, are the 5000k clear white or are the 6000k? I've seen several pictures online with mixed results, on some the 5000k look clear white and the 6000k look a little blue, on others the 5000k have a hint of yellow and the 6k's are pure white. Which is which? because i want pure white and not blue, but don't want to waste money on HIDs if they turn out looking like my silverstars that are yellowish

5000k will be pure white, 6000k will blatantly be blue. Even 5000 K will have a hint of color in it, far less than thr higher temps..
Brand will also play a huge role in how much color you have. Any big name brand like Sylvania don't even offer color bulbs. You can get CBI which is 5000kish but no purple/blue - the CBI bulbs are what i use in mine. Noticeably brighter, without the color that makes you stick out.
I always tell people... the more color you have the less you can see.

I have a 6000k 55w hid kit from Digital. This is my third vehicle with them. In my first vehicle, a Pontiac G8, the bulbs lasted almost 2 years. The G8 had daytime running lights, so these babies were on all of the driving time. The folks there are really easy to work with if you have any questions. On the matter of legality, all I have found in my research so far about aftermarket hid is that they must be properly aimed (like all headlamps) and they must be white in color. The color thing is a federal law.

I have 6000k hids, and they come out mostly white with little tint of blue in them from a distance, but they are 55w, not the regular 35w. The picture in my avatar adds more blue than there actually is though.
