Ok, Recon experts.

I'm buying the smoked Recons for my 2011 for myself for Christmas. Several questions:

Does anyone have HID lighting in these? What brand? Did you do the relay? Any bad experiences?

How hard is the wiring job? I'm looking at several options. Recons with stock lights, Recons with better bulbs, Sylvania Ultras or Silver Stars or a high quality HID kit. I've NEVER done anything like this, but I'm a quick learner. Do you recommend I try to go it alone on this or get it done? If I do it on my own, is it smart to just do the HID right away? Is it a PIA to add after the fact?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but I'm getting cold feet at the thought of screwing it up.

Post Anyone using hids on their projectors?

I had the recon projectors installed today and they look great but the bulbs it comes with 1st are yellow and I hate how they look and 2. the light output is not bad I don't know why some people say it was worse than stock no its slightly better than stock but since I'm used to HIDs I want to put hits again except this time I want to put 6000k which is white because the lights themselves got enough blue already with the less and halos. so anyone using HIDS OR OTHER Bulbs on their projectors??? pics would help thanks.

Sounds like you better keep the stock headlights you are trying to sell.

Trying to get by with inexpensive HID solutions usually don't turn out well.

So if money were no object, what headlights do you all recommend? The Recon kits with their suggested HID's?

I have a 2011 and want to upgrade but now kinda scared. I don't even know if I have reflectors or projectors. I do know that my 1 single bulb is the high and low.

Ok found the right folks for the job. http://blackflamecustoms.com

They will take your existing headlights (entire housing) and do a complete retro-fit. I think I would much rather pay them to do it for me. Amazing custom work.

I have HIDs in my motorcycle and the light output is ridiculous.

I wanted to get Recons, but I hear they have cheap projectors, so I am not sure if it is worth it?

One question I have, have Fogs match, or have fogs at 4.5k and headlights at 5k? or just get them both at the same temp?

I'd get both at the same temp. I have 8000k heads and fogs and it looks great!

As far as Recon's projectors go, I've never owned a pair and probably won't. Although, I have used their 6K HID kit in my 2005 SuperDuty for 3 yrs with zero problems. Will buy them again for the F150.
