Lol, you're cute, he starts with NEW OEM projector headlights then adds new projectors, Osram CBI bulbs, new Ballasts, wire harness to convert to D2s, new LED and drivers. Then he custom paints all components with OEM paint to match.

Obviously you swim in the DDM end of the hid pool and don't exactly know what your talking about as far as parts and costs go.

Also, if you want something done right, you pay for people talents! Tux and Bil have skills beyond most and they have every right to charge a premium for them. Bil does it full time and Tux part time. I could do it but don't have time or patience to do it so I don't mind spending money on quality work.

Not justifying my purchase, I just know what quality and parts cost. I'm not one for jamming recon or Spyder in my headlight location and say I have "killer" projectors.

Actually you have no idea on cost. Are you a TRS reseller? No. Do you know what Bill or tux pay for anything? No.

Never used a DDM product so get your crap together.

Relax Francis, you went on a killing spree bashing the expense of his products. I explained why I paid what I did and explained what the costs are. I'm sure there is a mark up as there is won any product but you pay for service, just the way it is. I did plenty of research as to how much these retro fitters charge, the top tier ones mind you. There are only a few out there for my model year and they were all very close. Also keep in mind that Bil is from Canada and he pays slightly more for parts and duty and customs so I'm sure that has to be passed on a little to the customer. I'm ok with that as he ate 50% of the shipping to the US.

Either way I am completely happy with my product and it's craftsmanship is top notch. If you're the type that tackled the project to save a couple bucks then good for you. I hope it turned out well for you but there is something to be said of just plunking down the cash and whammy, it's done and installed!

The prob with tux is that he claims his family and primary job are more important than his builds which I can side with the wait time IF the quality of the product is there. The quality of his products are not there. I have his products and wish now I had gone with someone else cause his products didn't even make it 6 months. I am now in search of another retrofitter to fix his poor workmanship, which is going to cost me even more money.

thank you and yes it's expensive but you get a good product from bill and others. I just don't have time for the builds much anymore along with all the wiring products I carry now. I'll do a few here and there but nothing of the magnitude bill does.

You are a mighty contradicting person. Lol. The only reason you even care to argue is because you paid a ridiculous amount of money for something that could have been done elsewhere for half the labor. Doesn't matter if he is in Canada. You chose to use him so you paid more...not because he is in Canada, but because he charges more, period.

Agreed. You're not the first one to express this same emotion regarding his work.

Once again, cute.

Not contradicting at all, one is justifying the other is explaining. Two very different things.

The only reason I continue to argue is because you seem to be on a bend to trash the work of these guys. It seems you've been burned and have a vendetta against them.

I paid considerably less than the ones he posted in his thread. Please show me and possible future purchasers where you would find these CUSTOM retros with all new components for half price, I'm sure people would be lining up to kiss your mighty king ring from your high throne!

If you are jealous of their work the. Just say so, no need to continue to trash their names. Do you even have a set of retros or just enjoy trying to screw them?

Default An Observation

Lots of talk here of price. While I too would like to get the best product for the best price, I have actually purchased a set of retros with all of the components that Tux and Bil use. I know these are the same components because I purchased them and gave them to the retrofitter. I will not go into all of the details, but suffice it to say I am not pleased with the quality. I am purchasing another pair from Bil. Plain and Simple was the retro company. No they were not cheap, close to $2000. Cost certainly does not quarentee quality, but from all I have heard here, Bil is at the very top of his game. If you do not believe Bil's quality is worth the money, fine that is certainly your decision. Otherwise, it does not serve any purpose for someone to continually knock Bil's work because of the price. I am in this for the long haul and I do not want issues with my lights five years down the road.

I do have personal experience with Bil's products. I have a pair of the foglights. Great person to work with and gets the job done in a timely fashion. I am looking forward to my new headlights from him as well.

If there is another retro company with the quality of Bil at any price, please let us in on the secret, otherwise let's move on.
