It's funny how people interpret information in a way that benefits them. We burn people at the stake around here that exceed payload, but exceeding the WC capacity of the truck is ok, maybe, but only because I have this boat that I have to tow...

You find the person at Ford who is both knowledgeable and willing to speak on the subject and you win the internet for the day.

Just for fun I pushed all the way from the Sales to Customer Service to finally Engineering groups at Ford trying to get them to specify the difference in differentials between the 3.55 and 3.73 on a 5.0. The best I ever managed was from Engineering when they could at least tell me that they had different oil capacity, however, the same person insisted that it was the gear set that altered the capacity and everything else was the same. Never found a single person employed by Ford who actually knew that the 3.73 meant that it would be a 9.75 vs 8.8. I'm sure that somebody out there both works for Ford and knows about it, but that individual probably isn't allowed contact with the outside world.
