Where are the add-on mirrors on late F-150s?
Hi,
I'm trying to find the add-on/clip-on towing mirror attachments that fit the 2015+ F-150 mirrors. Factory towing mirrors are big and I won't tow very often, so I chose to go add-on. I can find plenty of clip-on mirror extensions for the older models, but nothing for 2015+. Am I blind? |

Maybe you just need to clean your glasses? Clip on tow mirrors for 2015+ F-150s are available from at least three sources. Very popular is the CIPA brand. Not nearly as good as Ford OEM tow mirrors, but most owners "make do" with them. Here they are from eTrailer.com: http://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Towin...id=20161589713 Of course, much better is the OEM Ford towing mirrors. The nicer ones cost too much, but Ford makes the manual glass/manual telescope/manual fold in a kit for a very good price. If you want those towing mirrors on only when you tow, you can remove them and reinstall the original mirrors in about 15 minutes per side. It would probably take you that long to install the clip-on tow mirrors every time you want to tow. My Lariat power-folding mirrors are in the barn and I've had the Ford tow mirrors installed for three or four years now. They work fine. Mine have power glass, but that is not available in 2015-up inexpensive mirrors available from the Ford accessories catalog. https://www.1aauto.com/2015-16-ford-...1055879&y=2015 |
I have CIPA for the 14 MY truck mirrors. Took about a minute apiece to install and worked perfectly for me. Since my 16 has BLIS and spots, I am not even going to consider replacing them, and will get CIPA for those. The spots may be covered up, but it looks like the turn signals are still viewable on the CIPA, they were fully functional on the 14 mirrors.

The K-Source snap on mirrors are very nice and provide a better view than the Factory Tow Mirrors I've had on my 2010 F150 (which had better views than new 2015+ Tow mirrors).
They are much better than the Cipa custom tow mirrors that will scratch the hell out of your truck mirrors when taking them on an off. I know, scratched the hell out of my 2012 F150 mirrors and why I went to K-source then and liked them better. New 2016 Ksource mirrors are great with great views from the Ksource mirror and the standard factory mirror. You can get them from Etrailer but mine came from them all banged up with a ripped and smashed box because they didn't double box or even add bubble wrap. Luckily mirrors inside box were fine. They lost a sale of Blue Ox sway pro hitch over that one. Many other vendors sell Ksource such as Cabelas, you just have to do a search. |
Gotta say i seen one last summer.....those mirrors make the truck look terriable....ill keep my dumbo ears

We have a number of towing mirrors that are confirmed to fit 2015+ Ford F-150s. These mirrors clip on, slide on, or snap on to the Ford Factory mirrors and are great to help you see past your trailer.

I have a set for 2014 that I no longer need since I lost that truck to ice. I never had issues with scratching since I cleaned the mirror shells and waxed them before installing the CIPA, and I made sure the interior of the CIPA was clean. Once installed it is very hard for dirt to get in, and if you attach them correctly they don't move, so they can't vibrate to grind dirt in if there is some under it. |

The scratching is a very common thing as I found this out at rv.net from other Cipa Custom Tow mirror owners having the same problems. |
