I'd be really interested in your impressions of the HDPP truck after you've had some experience with it. Urging you to post at some point.

Assume that you ordered it. How long did it take?

Ordered Oct 18, built Jan 12, original delivery date Feb 6, delivered....March 1. Truck was delayed at a transfer yard near Seattle for 3 weeks due to a dead battery. So far, there are a few things I don't like (cosmetic) over the 2014, but lots of nice little improvements (e.g. keyless everything). Racked up initial miles real fast for some break-in, and started towing yesterday (27' airstream). Night and day difference from the 2014 non-HDPP I had (which was no slouch towing), a very obvious improvement. No porpoising (was minimal on the 14 with the WDH, but was still obvious), super smooth ride while towing. Slightly rougher ride (compared to the 14) when not towing.

I'm curious. My truck does not have the hdpp. My tires are 275/65R18 116T. The hdpp calls for LT275/65R18C 113/110S. From Goodyear:
  • Load Index 116 (2756 lbs)
  • Load Index 113 (2535 lbs)
Why do the hdpp tires have a lower weight rating than the regular payload truck?

Not sure.

Maybe your tires are an option, but I'm assuming you purchased your truck new and didn't spec'd any optional tires.

You have LR-D with versus the LR-C

Correct. My tires are stock, non-special order.
