what is included in the trailer tow package?

Yes. Key word "options". But the ITBC was not included on [B]doityourself62's F-150 as a factory option, so he needs to add it.
You may call me a nitpicker for attempting to add clarity, but you mean the "regular" tow package that Ford calls the heavy duty tow pkg, and on your window sticker it
is called simply the Trailer Tow Package. It wasn't standard equipment, as your window sticker shows it was an $895 MSRP option.

However with max tow pkg, you will probably run out of payload capacity before you get close to the tow rating. So you can increase the payload capacity by combining the optional heavy duty payload package (HDPP) with the max tow package. That combo is probably what someone was thinking about when they mentioned something like a "Super Max HD Tow" package.
And BTW, you'll probably not find an F-150 with the HDPP in stock. If you want HDPP, you'll probably have to order it and wait at least a coupla months for delivery.

There are two different types of truck. One for Towing, and one for Hauling.
Max towing on F-150 XL SuperCrew®, 6.5’ box, 3.5L EcoBoost, 4X2 and Max Trailer Tow Pkg.
Max payload on F-150 XL Regular Cab, 8’ box, 5.0L, 4X2, Heavy Duty Payload Pkg. and 18” Heavy Duty Wheels.
The first one is for weight behind the axle, the second one for weight ON the axle, hence the heavy duty frame. The second one is perfect for 5th wheels though. Yeah, Ford, you sure complicate things, why not make a TOW capable truck without all the complications.

Maybe I'm a "simple man" but I have all the bells and whistles I could possibly want (OK I would like a heated steering wheel) with my HDPP/MTTP 500a Lariat Canadian edition. It is by far the quietest, best optioned truck I have ever owned and it's also the most powerful while getting better MPGs! It's too nice to start working it and mess it up!
