Works like a charm. Very cheap and very handy for setting up the hitch.

Well got it all finished and took it on a maiden voyage today for a shakedown run before the big weekend.

Caliber weighs in around 3000lb +/-

Measured tounge weight without car: 280 lb
measured tounge weight with car: 500 lb

Tows great. Tow haul mode only she drops into 5th around 85-90km/h cruise worked np.

Pretty much only know it's back there when going up hills.

1 hub was warmer than the other 3 so think I might have to back off that brake a couple more turns.

Makes me excited.

And ii: did your little trick and come out to 500 tounge weight with the Cali. Will be bringing the scale the 4x4 and two dowels when I grab the scout to dial in the tounge weight.

5 tons is 10,000lb. You're not going to exceed the rating of the pintle with a 6000lb load.

I towed my '73 vette with the front wheels all the way forward on the trailer. I was also worried about too much weight without WDH. I'd suggest putting the scout on the trailer nose first to see how much weight it actually puts on the truck, and if you can adjust it to a comfortable position.
