Well...That was a waste of time

Typical me I do all kinds of research on a new weight distribution system. Ended up picking the Reese with sway control. So I pull up the install instructions and it won't fit my Vnose, so had to get the Curt Tru Trac. Curt seems to be a fine weight distribution system, but would have saved myself a lot of time if I had taken some measurement BEFORE spending hours shopping.

Word of advice. If you are comparing which way to go, take some measurements and eliminate the ones that won't fit. Would have saved me many hours.

Just bought a camper. Made sure to bring a tape measure, even after being almost positive the blue ox system would fit, I had to borrow some tools and move the electrical line running on the inside of the frame.

You would think by now that the distance between head and tip ups would be the same for all brands and trailer manufacturers, KNOWING they need a WDH would have that area clean for the install.

Apparently not!

On my Coleman, both the Husky and the Blue Ox tip ups fell in the same place so they were a direct bolt on. On my horse trailer though, I had to cut through a steel plate that was welded to the A frame in order to put the tip up on, as well as move wiring.

interesting how they have the propane so far forward versus the battery.

I didn't have room for the Blue Ox.

What about Equlizer? Those have a skinny strap and angle bracket instead of the wide tip up. https://www.equalizerhitch.com/how-equalizer-works

Haven't checked their dimensions, but very similar to the Curt that fits. Will be installing tomorrow.

Why is that interesting?

Here is another great problem solver for V-nose trailers with not much tongue length in front of the enclosure:
