My Coleman is a GVWR of 7100#. Loaded and wet comes in at 6300#. My 14 had a payload of 1470#. With a topper, generator, tools and 5 gallon gas can, and 5 people my truck was 400# over.

So if you have 2 people, and only a 6800# GVWR trailer, and travel light, depending on payload, if over 1470, you should be fine.

Ignore GCVWR, in most cases you can never reach it since tongue Weight will exceed Payload before you get there.

Take the GVWR of the trailer, thats the max it can be loaded, multiply by 13%, and that is your typical tongue weight, add 100 for the WDH, and subtract that from your trucks payload. That will give you a ballpark figure to work with.

Take a tape measure and point to 72"....that is around the average life of a North American male. Now, point to your age. See what you've done life wise? See what is the expected time left? For us, time to start having fun!

We've "invested" into our boys, their sports (big time payoff in character build), their start in the housing market and don't owe on anything we own. Time for ma and pa (us) to enjoy now...who knows how long "now" will last.

I must say one thing too. Those boys I mentioned? Last night we got a msg from both of them after they saw what we were getting. It said "It's about time!!" Sorry to get sappy on this but I'm in a very cool place in my life!
I'll never forget the tape measure demonstration. My dad showed it to me when I was 17 (now 53) and he was 49. He died a year later in an accident.

Awe man....sorry to hear about that. A sudden passing is not nice...no time to say anything. It does make a person realize you are progressing through life that DOES have an end. Enjoy what you get. I always asked my grandfather....how ya doing today Opa? His answer....."woke up on the right side of the sod!" That was what made him happy...and so should it make me happy.

My wife and I are of direct Dutch blood. First generation born in Canada with MANY bad money habits (the saving kind). LOL I have to really thank my wife for putting up with all my ventures and still putting us in the comfortable financial situation we are now. We (more like she) is finally letting me into the purse a bit ...if you know what I mean. We went to a NASCAR race in Vegas this spring..first for both of us and she enjoyed it as much as I did. It was that holiday where you both kind of fell in love with each other again......does that make sense? Even our kids noticed it when we came home. I guess I finally grew up! Now we intend to enjoy each other and our beautiful area we live in!
