Havn't been around here long, I got atleast a few but how crabby do guys get for the same pictures showing up in sometimes many different threads? and could it be any truck you owned or where operating around say a farm? Before I go for a search of my pictures, make a copy, shrink it, and post them I thought I'd ask first.

We have a neibor that buys a few "idiot cubes" from us a couple times a year for his horses and always comes to pick them up with his S10 a few years ago and now his little Canyon/Colarado. Not as many bales of course but he always loads it up to look about the same compared to the size of the truck. Always gives me a chuckle and I'm gonna have to try to pay closer attention to how many bales he gets next time to figure out roughly what he is carrying.
Looks to be about 36? bales on there at 40-60lbs, roughly at 50lbs, 1800lbs. After running the numbers it may look like a lot but for us a pallet of seed is a little over 2k. Any distance tho I'd much rather have a pallet of seed in the bed than that high centered load.

The monitor I'm communicating with you on is also 18" and I can't see this amount of space making or breaking the hauling capabilities.
Or were you talking about the 5.5', in which case still.. 30" less doesn't exactly make it unusable. Only particular reason I could see against them is that you cant put an ATV in with the gate closed - thats why I wouldn't want one.
Its the difference of putting lots of stuff in the bed vs. having to use a trailer, and if not in this newer ford I have with a 6.6 bed and a reese I couldn't pull the 5th wheel or cattle trailer without spending much more on a hitch. There are many times I still end up taking the old '98 F150 to do stuff because I only have the 6.5 bed in the '08. The 5.5 bed I find very useless after years of using the 06 at work. and again, to each his own, just made it a lot harder for me to find a 6.6 crew, but I figured that was gonna happen with what I see on the road everyday.
