My '05 FX4 pulling this heavy load. A little over weight but only traveled about 3 miles one way going about 40 mph.
My new to me '08 hauling a brush hog on our home built trailer for my father, this truck has pulled the same load in picture above as well.
I dont have a pic of this hooked up but you get the idea.

[quoteWhat engine in the blue truck? That tractor and trailer can't weigh that much. My '08 with a 16ft 10k trailer, my skiddy (JD 250), and a 2k hay bale and it did fine towing wise. Only thing I miss was the hp of my last truck ('05 Dodge 2500 QCSB 4x4 Cummins 6spd manual). When I feel pretty darn good towing heavier things with my current truck I also have a history with heavier duty pickups also. Your red/tan looks good (I got the same color just a qc).][/quote]
Both trucks have the 5.4L. The double axel weights in at 2200 pounds. Active tractor with no attachments weights 3,770 lbs. The loader weights 1800 lbs not including hydraulic fluid and my father made the bucket stronger and larger than original. There are 9 wheel weights per tire at 55 lbs each, thats 990 total. Rear tires on the loader are filled with liquid calcium chloride at 10.829 per gallon, each tire holds 38 gallons so the weight of both tires combinded weight in at 823 lbs. There is a 55 gallon drum filled with concrete for a counterweight as well, a cubic foot of concrete weights 150 lbs and there are 7.35 cubic feet in a 55 gallon drum for a total of 1100 lbs. Tractor weights about 8500 lbs. Total load is 10,683. I dont know the tow capacity on the blue truck but i think my red one is 8200 lbs. If i have to tow that load again i will be using my father-in laws f250 2wd diesel that he tows his 36 foot fifth wheel with that has a tounge weight of 2600lbs.
