I realize the whole “China bomb” thing... the Chinese made tires that came on my camper are 2 ply. The ones I linked to are 8 ply. That’s a big difference.

I suppose I should cancel my order and go with the Goodyear. After the tire issues I had with my truck’s Goodyear’s, I hate to give them any more business.

I bought Carlisle Radial Trail HD from Walmart for about $60/tire. They get fantastic reviews and I have about 10,000km on them now with no signs of cracking, damage, etc.

They also have an 81MPH speed rating vs. 65MPH and I bought one load range higher than my stock tires.

I have had Carlisle Radial RH on my TT for 4 years. They are the prior gen tire to the HD. No complaints though. The size I use are rated at 87 mph.

Check the weight rating of your wheels. I'm in the exact same boat. I have the stock Trail King tires on my BH. They were made in 2014 and I want them replaced before my trip this summer. As part of this, I'm bumping up to a D load tire. I found my factory wheels only have a weight rating of 1870. This would mean they're made for C load tires, with a max pressure of 50psi. I just bought new Dexstars last night from etrailer, that are rated the D load 2040. The current wheels are on the cusp of my weight as it is, and the new ones will be made for the D load 65psi. Would my current ones explode at 65, probably not. But they're made with ratings for a reason. I've also settled on Carlisle RT HD. Well reviewed and well priced.

This is the factory setup, which should keep me on the road for a bit. I plan on increasing wheel/tire size the next time around. I just didnt feel like swapping out the spare and messing with clearances this time. I can use one of the old ones as a second spare in the time being.

Another vote for Carlisle Radial Trail HD. I've been using Carlisle tires for years on trailers and tractors with great satisfaction. I put the RT HD on my previous camper after OEM tire and wheel issues.

65 is not "... an old generalization from bias ply days". Until fairly recently, almost all, if not all, ST tires were limited to 65 mph. Less than 5 years ago, the Maxxis 8008 ST tires I put on my TT were certainly radial constructed but they were limited to 65.

The new generation of Carlisle Radial Trail RH (?) and follow on HD and the even later new Goodyear Endurance were rated for 81 mph.

Never had a problem with China made trailer tires or wheel bearings.

I did upgrade to load range D radials, and I replace tires every 4 yrs whether needed or not.

Yrs ago with boat trailer, Goodyear Marathons were problematic.

So, the China tires showed up today. All it took was ONE TOUCH of the side wall and I promptly packed them up and sent them back to amazon. The side walls LITERALLY felt like rubber band. Even though it’s an 8ply (only lists 7ply on tire!) the side walls are scary.

Ordered the goodyear endurance. Lesson learned!!

I still have our GYM (marathons) since we bought our TT back in 9/16 and have been good to us, although I hear A LOT of bad stuff about them. Granted we don't boondock (yet) and have been easy on roads we travel on we've been happy with ours. I may lift our TT this year or next and will upgrade from 14 to 15 inchers and will get the GYE (endurance) as I hear lots of good raves about them. If I ever need to choose other brands, Micheline and Carlise are my other choices.
