My truck doesn't appear to sag at all, again I need to measure it unloaded vs loaded but if it does it's definitely minor and shows no indication that it's overloaded.

i've seen them welding at the bottom of this pic

and i've seen them welded at the winch itself at the top... but i don't think i've seen it in both places??? moving either one should/could pull the boat forward... you could even try loading the boat at the bow and see if it helps too if nothing else suggested works.

I didn't think of surge brakes causing it but to me that's more of a jerky feeling instead of a bouncing feeling

EDIT: lol right after i post that i can see some welded at both spots on google images

I absolutely love towing anything with my Loadlifter 5000's on my F150. Was my first mod!

In fact.....my truck was hit by a red light runner, so the body shop had her for a month. I go to pick it up and notice the rear air bags were different? They took off the Loadlifters and replaced them with Firestone bags?!-WTH.
I told the dealership to get them off and put new Loadlifters 5000 Ultimates on their pronto!-true story.

What one did you go with? Any pictures hooked up? Does it make it any more difficult when hooking up?

Did your rear end bounce over dips in the road? Like rock front to back?

Does this happen mostly on Concrete roads? This happens on my truck when towing my travel trailer. It will hammer you to death on certain roads. I don't think there is a whole that you can do for these situations. We have a brand new stretch of cement road just north of our town that is a killer. Might have something to do with the spacing of the segments of cement.

I believe you are correct regarding the concrete highways. I have the same problem in VA when towing my boat, on asphalt, it pulls fine. However, once I start going over bridges and overpasses, my boat bounces and I get jarred pretty bad.

BUMP

I installed a set of airbags on my truck back in July and when they have ~30psi in them they firmed up the ride while towing and limited the bouncing I had. Easy upgrade that works, I like it.

BUT....I swear my truck rides 'rougher' under normal, non towing use, when the bags are empty. Am I crazy?

I'm considering removing them this weekend to be able to compare the ride back to back to see if if changes. If it does I'm considering leaving the bags off until the spring when I'll start towing my boat again. I know it sounds crazy, but it only takes me an hour or so to do and since I only need them ~4-5months of the year if it makes the ride better with them not installed I'll probably install in spring and remove in fall every year.

Just wondering if anyone has had the same thoughts/experience or does the same?

It could be that your bags are just a bit stiff. Normally if you put 100psi in them and leave them overnight for a couple of nights they will "break in" a bit and the ride will soften up.
