Why is my trailer ball hitch on a angle downwards?

What kinda shank do you have?....A WDH usually has an angle adjust head.

I have an Quality S Weight Distribution hitch. Oops, Looks like I got 2 threads going. I will have delete this one. Please refer to the other one. thanks.

The more angle downward the the greater the angle on the bars. This puts more tension on them when they are hooked which transfers more weight.
