Thanks, Ford is working on a software patch to correct the issue, they tested it with several trucks. I have a LONG pigtail so they just drove them along side and all the 2017's ran my pump anytime the trucks were running.

Unhappy Did you get this fixed?

Dexter says it will work but they are telling falsehoods, their actuators are NOT compatible with the new Fords even with their magic gismo. I had an emergency trip to get the trailer unloaded and I was at over 30K gross with no trailer brakes. Towhaul, manual exhaust braking, avoiding hills allowed me to limp it to get the trailer offloaded. Good thing F450's have huge brakes!
Did you get this fixed? I’m having the same issue with a new travel trailer on my week old 17 F250. I’ve switched between all the trailer settings and still violently surges the truck when coming to a stop on a low 1.0 tailer gain. Please advise.

Ford sent an “engineer” out several times. They tore my truck apart, checked the trailer numerous times. They checked all outputs from the truck. They had spent the better part of the day with my truck in pieces. I don’t know what keyed the thought. The trailer had been checked by them, a trailer dealer each on several occasions. The 2008 wasn’t to picky about brake wiring polarity, the 2017 is. They swapped the white and blue wires and it works as intended. I’m guessing over 25 man hours was spent on this simple problem. which white and blue wire did they swap the one on the truck 7pin plug or the one on the dexter pump? The white wire on the truck is ground and blue is brake control i dont see why its work lolol thx

Actually where they switched them they might not be white and blue, they told me they were reversed and I remembered the stupid $100 module that didn’t work went between white and blue. They did not change the truck, they swapped wires on the trailer, everyone walked away, myself included, feeling STUPID! The crazy part is, we tried in an aftermarket controller while waiting for a fix and it worked great with the truck wiring and the trailers. The Factory unit is picky, it monitors everything constantly.

did you keep the module that went between the white and blue wire install on the trailer for it to work ?

Nope, the module is useless junk to me, not needed at all.
