2015 ford f150 brake controller weak trailer brakes, gain is at 10 trailer does not lock up brakes. trailer has been checked with other vehicles and locks up with those. Any known problems with Ford brake control systems that anyone knows about?

It wont lock the brakes. It is integrated into the braking system and applies braking as needed based on pedal pressure. Set it to 7.5 as a starting point and go drive. You can also set the braking aggressiveness from the dash under trailer setup.

The old school method of setting up the brake controller doesn't work with the ITBC. Setting the gain until the brakes grab with the control fully depressed on the aftermarket controller will still work in the new trucks because they are not tied to the computer, but the ITBC one is, so you really can't set them up the same way.

If you drive up to say 40 MPH, and brake hard, you will find that the truck and trailer stop as one. If you are light on the brakes, the trailer brakes will barely engage, with just enough force to help slow without locking up. It's a whole new learning curve, but once you get it set, you will love how they work.
