I have the lighter version of this camper and I'm over payload with 5.4l, 3.55's 4wd and a supercab... look at your tire pressure sticker and see what your cargo capacity is... mine is 1600ish pds and like i said, I'm over payload with just me, the wife, the baby, a 35 quart cooler, and some baby supplies in the truck and an empty bed.

This is just my 2 cents but I basically have the same truck as you and I am maxed out on payload with a 5500# ready to camp trailer. It's at 780# tongue and everything else you put in the truck adds up fast. I don't think that I would like that combination for myself. 7500# loaded is quite a bit heavier than mine. But since it's a toy hauler you might be able to get by with nothing in the bed of the truck and since your camping so close to home I guess other people could ride in a different car. I think it would take those things to do it within specs. My guess is you'll end up over your GVWR but under your GCVWR so it's up to you if you are comfortable with that.

FYI: Toy haulers are tongue heavy and need to be balance with weight in the toy bay. So you need to plan to tow near gross weight for the trailer. As others have stated you are going to be close. If you get the trailer balanced out right youd' be looking at 13% of trailer wieght on the truck. At 7500lbs that is just under 1000 lbs on the truck. As most are not HDs your payload is most likely in the 1500 to 1700 range which leaves you 500 to 700lbs for people (yourself included), any gear in the truck (including addons i.e. cap, tonneu cover, etc).

Unhappy Towing camper

I just bought a 2014 F150 4x4 Off road Lariat with 5.0/355 rear in . I pull a 28ft Jayco Jay Flight BHBE to length 33ft 1 inch front of the hitch to back bumper . Pull it with no problems.
Also loaded with Extra 700 lbs of water for hurricane evacuations . All I need now from Tony is the power folding tow mirrors.

Lots of great info on here.. I am continuing to search but I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I have a 2013 F-150 SCREW with the 5.0 and 3.73 gears. It is the Tuscany Black Ops with lift kit, big tires, etc. I have been towing my boat with no issues (approx 2200#).

The camper we are looking at is a 2014 Keystone Hideout 27DBS with equalizer hitch. Dry, the camper comes in at 6505#. Loaded with camping gear and water tank full (45g) and I am guessing will be around 7500#'s.

My owners manual has the GCWR at 6849#'s. My hitch says it is rated at the following.. Max Gross Trailer Weight 10,500# and Max Tongue Weight 1,050#.

So the question is... Can I safely pull this camper? The furthest I will be trailering it is about 40-50 miles, twice a year. Other than that it will be quick trips on the weekend maybe 5-10 miles both ways.

The dealer let me hook up and take it for a test drive. I didn't go very far but did attempt a gradual decline and then back up. No notable issues that I could see. Tranny was at normal temp, but again it was a short drive. This was also straight to the hitch, no equalizer at this time. I live in ND so it is pretty flat for the most part. Some hills but nothing major. I will not be towing the boat and camper together. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Thanks in advance!
I'm towing the sister trailer to yours(Keystone Outback). My trailer is also 6500lbs dry and weighs in at 7500lbs loaded. The dry hitch weight is 850lbs. My truck has the 7700lb GVWR and when hooked to the trailer my truck tipped the scales at 7540lbs. There are 4 of us in the truck and just the kids bikes+ fishing gear in the bed of the truck. Not sure how big your family is but going by your trucks GVWR of 7350lbs unfortunately you will more than likely be over your GVWR and possibly your rear axle rating too. But not by much and if it's only gonna be 40-50 miles a couple times a year i say go for it. Just take your time..
