there's a HD Payload package and a Max Tow package. a F150 that has both is a rare bird.
how do you know your trailer is 8800lbs.? did you weight it at the scales?
what's the payload capacity of your truck?

I have one of those rare birds. (Perhaps I have the total total package.) The one with the highest payload and the one with the highest towing capacity are two different trucks, though.

Same here max tow and hdpp. Sadly neither number is "BEST IN CLASS" but good enuf for what I do.
it is rare in the wild though. My dealer searched and found one in a 500 mile radius.
Yes transmission temp will increase as the work increases.

Okay not being a troll but I do say I'm part of the 'total total package' club
But I digress, as mentioned, yes it'll heat up towing that much weight on a hill and should go down once you hit the peak of that hill. Heat will vary depending on grade and length of that hill. Of course w/o much more info that is a guestimate on my end, YMMV.
edit: Man my engrish is bad this morning lol

A little more information would also be helpful—what do you mean by "heats up"? You can get the actual transmission temp on the productivity screen; some increase is normal (I generally saw about +10 F over normal, unloaded driving while towing about 7k last week) but too much could indicate that you're either working the truck harder than the cooling system can keep up or (less likely) something isn't functioning normally (e.g. transmission torque converter not locking up).
If you've got the 8" screen, turning on the temperatures for coolant and transmission temp with Forscan is really helpful because you can see both normal-operation (baseline) temperatures as well as loaded temperatures and better understand when things are starting to get out of hand.
