Towing draft horses

A gooseneck trailer will pull with better stability, in other words, it won't have as much tendency to sway side to side going down the road. You will definitely need a brake box either way. I have had horses for 30 years, been pulling them down the road for 18 of those years. I'd much rather have the gooseneck if it's an option. They are also(gooseneck) easier to maneuver when you need to park, back into a spot, or make turns.
good luck!

Yes, I've pulled with half ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton trucks. All handle differently, sure, but the biggest issue with a heavy load, in my humble opinion, is braking. Hence the definite need for a brake box.

A gooseneck is a lot quicker and easier than dealing with setting up a wd hitch for the load. To do it right you would have to set it up multiple times for loaded unloaded, or moving cattle around like we do using one would mean changing setting multiple times a day. If money allows, find a short gooseneck.
