Doable to me means within a trucks GCWR. Is that true for your truck?

That is where the confusion lies, GCWR for this truck is 12500, my truck is 6500, that leaves 6000. Most comments here say that it won't. I went back to the dealership, questioning the towing capability and they threw the 2018 Ford F150 towing guide and said it should pull 6000 with no problem.

I have pulled about 6800 lbs with my 5.0 and it pulled it. It would be a serious chore in the mountains. I have only pulled that much weight in the Arkansas/southern Missouri hills and it was screaming up those hills rolling 70-80 mph. Would it pull it in the mountains? Absolutely.....but not well. I couldn't imagine pulling that with a 3.3L V6. That's just me though.

If the Society of Automotive Engineers rates your truck as being capable of hauling 6k lbs, then what doubt is there left?

Per the F150 towing guide, that means you have a 4x4 supercab shortbed with 3.73's. If that's the case, your max trailer weight is 7400lbs.
That's the only 3.3 v6 available with the 12,500 GCVWR. If you have 3.55's, the max trailer weight is 5100lbs depending on configuration, and the GCWRs are 9900lbs and less.

Reviving this thread to inquire of anyone with the 3.3L, what kind of trailer weight (travel trailer) are you actually pulling. I know equipment, load, add on's, blah blah blah come into play but I just want to get an idea of folks actually pulling with the 3.3L motor and results/experiences.
Looking at a 2775gross/3700 GVWR trailer and trying to decide if my rig is up to the task.
Thanks

Your truck should pull that acceptably, if nothing else. If you want to spring for something along the lines of a 3.5 Eco SCrew Max Tow, go for it. It’s not necessary, though.

As as much as the forum cans on F150 base engines, keep in mind that folks were pulling more than that in F150s with 125 horsepower 300 I6s and 302s with way fewer transmission gears and torque outputs that died just off of idle. You’ll be fine. But, if someone offers to buy you the aforementioned Max Tow SCrew, take it.

**There should be a 3.3 thread a few pages back in the General Discussion subforum. You should find it and ask there as well.

Thanks
since this thread got revived with gobbledygook, I’ll add my 2 cents.
The 3.3L NA engine has power similar to my 2008 Explorer 4.0, also with 3.73. My travel trailer GVWR is 3877# and I have had it overloaded some before CAT Scaling it and removing items. It pulled that weight adequately but NO power to spare and got really slow on steep hills. It would slow down on interstate rises that I would not call a hill. Worked but not a pleasurable tow, The F150 is a better tow platform. My Explorer was rated to tow 5225#. I would look to a maximum of 5K# GVWR on a travel trailer and look more at 4-4.5K#. The wind resistance was a HUGE factor in the towing performance. Ford Frontal Area recommendations in Sq. Ft.: Explorer 40, my F150 55. Trailer frontal area approximately 55, main box in 7x7= 49
