Towable????
So purchased a new truck, after the fact, wife "insists" we start camping again....
So, here's what I have:
2013 F150 Screw 4x4 5.0 v8 157 wb
tow package (regular not max)
brake controller
Tag from door Reads:
GVWR 7350 LB
Payload 1431 LB
Front GAWR 3900
Rear GAWR 3850
I estimate with family and gear in the cab 700 lbs max.
Trailer specs The wife "insist" we get...
Hitch weight is 815LBS
Trailer dry weight is 5730LBS
Should I be ok???

Nope. Technically, You'll run out of payload. Dry weights are meaningless.
1431-700 = 731. 731-815 = -84 deficit already using yer dry figure. Add another 800-1000 lbs to arrive at a much more realistic actual trailer weight.
Typically you run out of rated payload before you run out of towing capacity.
The max tow and heavy payload options (along with an EB) would have been fine though.
Mind you - I'm really, really cautious, lol! Lots of folks tow more with less - and get away with it. I'm not one of 'em, is all. Precious cargo y'know.

^^^This. Use caution, and prevent a vacation from being a disaster. Charts are a theory, trailer issues are real. Better to err on the cautious side with loved ones.

Nope.
They transfer weight to the front of the tow vehicle primarily for leveling and handling improvements - alleviating some rear axle limit issues. It does not reduce the impact on payload.
Perhaps transfer some truck cargo to the rear of the trailer? A balancing act. The guides discuss that too.
You need one, no question with that trailer.

Dry weight means little (trailer without features etc) better to go by trailer GVWR. Repeat, dry weight may not be what the trailer weighs sitting new on lot. Always good to weigh truck and trailer loaded for travel on truck scale.
