Default Tow/haul mode... well not so fast. Need input!

Thanks for taking a look at my post. I'm not sure my tow/haul (th) mode is working properly... or at all that is. We got a new travel trailer and I cant tell a difference while using th and not using th. I currently have a 2014 f150 screw 4x4 ecoboost. Now this is my second one... I had a 2012 ecoboost 4x4 f150 screw and you could feel the transmission down shift and tell the gears wouldn't shift as quick as when not in th. I have yet to feel the 2014 down shift to help with braking and cant really tell about hold gears really being the trailer weighs around 7500#'s its staying in gears longer anyways.

Any thoughts? I would really like to have the down shifting to help with braking like the 2012 because it made a real difference in the towing experience.

Put in tow\haul , (w trailer) with cruise on and roll down a hill, watch at how many mph it downshifts at, do again with t\h off. Their will be a notable difference. A lot of times I shut off t\h to let it roll for gas mileage if controlling speed is not a issue.

Or put in t/h at speed and apply brakes. It should noticeably and aggressively shift down to help, engine brake.

If you have a tachometer, drive at 55mph, then engage or disengage tow haul. The rpm's should change.

Generally, T/H will hold 1 and 2 longer on takeoff.

I think it does more things than we are even aware of. I've noticed that the torque converter locks up in 4th rather than 3rd. I've also noticed that it will shift from 6th lockup to 5th lockup under load; rather than 6th lockup to 6th unlocked. I think this is to manage heat build-up. Virtually all shift points are higher.

Not sure if it's making a difference or not, but I noticed a change while towing about 7k lbs by going into the menu and selecting a trailer. Seemed like the TH worked better and the sway controls were working better (trailer is a home build deal and tends to sway at 35+ MPH when not enough weight on the tongue).
After setting the trailer was traveling at 50 MPH with no issues.
