It was also a bit cramped up front compared to the Flex. Mine had the flow through console with the refer, and that took up too much room in the second row and things I would normally carry in the Flex I couldn't in the MKT.

Now if I did find a replacement Flex after wrecking Darth Vagon, I wouldn't be here in the F150 forum again, as I would be enjoying it instead of my F150. Thats how much I like them.
Our issues seem to all or mostly be electronic ones. We did just have the RDU(rear diff and axles replaced and have had the PTU and rear drive shaft done too). Mostly though its been computer gremlins that have caused the issues and there seem to be no known fixes so it takes forever to work through them. The interior is much more cramped than the flex for sure. We also bought ours after not being able to locate a Flex we wanted for a deal we could live with.

not yet. I've been working in Denver the last couple of months and haven't had the truck back to tow anything. Hopefully within the month, I'll have a fresh report.

Recently purchased a travel trailer and hauled it for the first time 2 weeks ago. Went up as high as 6400 feet at one point. Dry = 4950, I estimate I was pulling about 6200 or so.

2013 5.0, 3.73 did great, fantastic actually. Never struggled or felt under powered. I cruised between 58 - 62 mph. The first pic is the trailer and the second was a pic of my dash cruising along a flat section of freeway on the way home. I used the tow/haul mode the whole trip and used CC when I could. Very happy with how the truck towed.

I'll be honest I was starting get Eco-boost in my head. Even went and test drove one. After my first towing experience I'm glad I stayed with my truck. Didn't really want to restart my payments.

OK..after a serious amount of time without a trailer because of my truck issues, I'm giving it one last effort. Last time, the truck fried my brake rotors and i have the death squeels on all 4 wheels. I hooked up and took off (under 2800 lbs) and under 55 mph, the truck has all sorts of power, even in 6th and a 35mph side wind. Got it up to 65-70 mph into the wind and struggled to stay in 4th gear and frequent down shifts to 3rd at 4,000 rpms (flat ks highway) and 5 mpg. Turned with the wind behind me and could barely hold 65-70 in 6th and 10 mpg.

I stopped and my brakes were pretty damn hot after 6 miles ( I turned off sway control). I get the wind resistance, but I can't even hold 4th gear??????????????? I'll take my old 2001 4.6L any day. The good news is the dealer has agreed to take another serious look at it. They agree that with that load, the truck should have no problems running in 5th and an easy time holding 4th even in that wind. The fact that I was only getting 10 and kinda holding 6th with that much wind pushing me just screams something is dragging. I could feel at times a surging when I shifted from 2nd to 3rd at 50 mph (it decided to go to 6,000 rpms before shift.

Is it possible that, even when sway control is off, there's something in the trucks computer telling it to stabilize with brakes and cut back engine power? It makes no sense to me that I can run 6th to 55 mph with all the power in the world, but once I hit 65, I struggle to hold 5th.

This is like two years of this crap. Your truck is screwed bro, trade that **** in and try again. I've towed almost 8K up a 6% grade with my 3.5 Ecoboost 3.55 and had to get off the accelerator because I have plenty of power. Your entire system needs a reflash or there is an issue with the wiring on your truck when plugged in to a trailer. It should not perform this way, itsbroken, there is an issue that is NOT NORMAL and personally I think you should move on from this vehicle.

Maybe it’s just me, but no one brought up the question of why your brakes are getting hot? I’d say that’s the problem.

the only way to find out is to have the IDS connected while towing the trailer. If there are no sway warnings or other warnings that will come up if the system activates, then there is a flaw in the programming somewhere that is activating when it has a trailer connected and activates the ITB. That would be the only thing that would pulse the brakes while towing. I would think you would feel the brakes activating too.
