Technically, you are correct, but your example is in excess of the reasonable range of motion. Given your example, do a pushup with a half inch piece of plywood under your palms and equate that with the effort without. We are only talking about 1 or 2 inches over 25 or 30 feet. You could do the math, but its not worth the time. i.e. Its a small change. A very small change.

My hybrid is similar to your trailer but I rarely reach the 5,xxx limit. I have air bags and about 45 lbs brings me to level with a 2010 screw.
I also have the 2-5/16th" ball and 10,000 setup. I thought overkill, too, but the shank on the ball wouldn't fit a lighter mount.

Just came back yesterday from another weekend camping trip, just under 2 hours each way. Had thunderstorm warnings Friday on our way out and some pretty strong winds which I felt, but would have felt with just the truck alone. Saw a semi hauling a tanker in the ditch on its side and many advertisement signs knocked down.
Didn't have any problems other than getting 9 MPG when driving against the wind. No sway, no bounce. Really happy with the ride, even on the horrible highways. Still not sold on needing a WDH so far

I think that it also is simply the way the trailer is balanced, if you have little sag on the truck and pulls nicely I would leave it as is.
I was out camping the in Grande Prairie area and was running about 9.5mpg into the wind as well lol
