Ford will void the warranty on any F-150 that mounts a snowplow unless the F-150 has the factory-optional snowplow prep pkg, order code 68P.
The snowplow prep pkg for 2016 thru 2018 Lariat includes ESOF instead of the std 2-speed automatic 4WD. Requires 5.0L engine and 4x4. Includes a snowplow button on the dash that disables some of the high-draw electrical equipment, such as inverter and heated seats, to provide more juice for handling the plow. And includes a relay to power up the electrical controls on the plow.
Here are the words from the 2016 F-150 Body Builder's Layout Book (BBLB).
No mention if the 68P pkg includes stronger front springs the way the SuperDuty does.
SnowPlow Prep was not available on 2015 and earlier F-150s, so the minimum Ford pickup with snowplow prep was the F-250.

Welp, I guess mine ISN'T rated for a plow. Why the heck would I have a 4050 lb front GAWR then? lol Any idea Smokeywren?

It appears that the FGAWR I have is the same as HD Payload trucks do. I must have a hybrid....lol. Half HD Payload / Reg Payload. All in the wrong places! lol

I do believe it was available starting with the 2015's. The snow plow package I mean.......

Mass-hole is correct – the 4a transfer case uses limited slip system; at the low speeds of plowing/with the repeated slipping of plowing, the transfer case would quickly burn out. (Raptor would get lots of cooling air across the transfer case, so much less of an issue). And the snow plow option does include one range higher springs than would otherwise have been selected unless maximum has already been selected (>90% of time, unless you have the HDPP, 86P gets you heavier front springs). Aside: The only differences between the lightest 4wd RCSB and the heaviest HDPP CC 4wd are the springs and wheels. What I really find interesting Ricktwuhk, is the weights in that snow plow body builder layout pdf are light by 60lbs front/135lbs total for the same combination versus the payload pdf. And 135lbs is darn close to the weight of a tank of fuel – not SAE requirement for snow plow weights to include fuel?!. (And in all cases, the minimums are for a unicorn – 150lb driver, manual windows/locks, front mini console, etc. )Annual diet of plowing hasn’t killed the CJ-5; don’t see why it would destroy my ’17.

On what basis would the warranty be voided? Reviewing my owner's manual I didn't find anything that places a snowplow limitation.

It's in the Order Guide Supplemental Reference, which limits the weight of the plow,as well as requiring the snowplow prep pkg for even the lightest weight of snowplows.
My Owner's Guide for my 2012 on page 6 - introduction - "Using your vehicle with a snowplow" says in bold print: Do not use this vehicle for snowplowing. Your vehicle is not equipped with snowplowing pkg.
In the index under "snowplowing" it refers to page 6.
