Seeking Advice
Hello again everyone. Sorry for the long post. (Details matter, yes?)
Per my thread in the Introductions forum, I'm posting some specific questions here.
Just purchased a new '25 F150 Eco. It came with sport mirrors. I have a set of Tow Mirrors from a previous incident (got sideswiped in my old truck, insurance replaced the driver's side, but ordered a complete set, so I have a slightly cosmetically damaged driver's side and a brand new passenger side).
This truck is fully equipped, BLIS, Spotlights, Turn Signals, 360 Cameras, Auto-fold, Heat. Just not towing.
I attempted to install this set, as I had done on my last truck. The first thing I did was pull the driver's door switch plate and then I saw that I don't have the pigtail for the extension/retraction switch.
I don't tow very often, but I do still prefer the additional mirror size of tow mirrors.
So here's my list of questions...
1. Could I just ignore this and install the mirrors anyway? Just treat them like manual extensions?
2. Anything change in the '24-'25 mid updates that requires me to move my cameras from the old mirrors to the new? Last time around I just used FORscan to turn on tow mirror functions and then recalibrated the cameras.
3. Can anyone point me to a site that shows Ford's full parts diagrams? I'd be looking for the door wiring harness(es) that would add the extension/retraction feature (switch, any power needed, etc). My Google powers seem to be lacking lately as every search I do seems to point me to Ford's generic parts sales and they don't seem to include things like this. I'm sure they are targeting a different, less capable consumer, and I get that.
4. Anything else change from '21-'23 to the '24-'25 model years that I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance.

From my F-150 Word notes file, one of these 2 forum members may be able to help you with these details:

So after all the research I could do, I figured out that the mirrors I have, are for '21-'23 year models. '23 was indeed my old truck. The part numbers for these mirrors are still the only part numbers I can find on Ford's parts sight. More on this later.
I also figured out that the wiring harness in my door is indeed NOT equipped with the extension/retraction pigtail. I can live without that feature.
So I switched them out this past Sunday. After doing so, I used ForSCAN to recalibrate the cameras. However, I got an error from ForSCAN saying the truck was in the wrong configuration. I struggled with this for a bit trying to see what configuration settings I had wrong. Turns out it was the cameras in the mirrors. So back to the garage I went and I removed the cameras from the factory sport '25 mirror and replaced them into the '23 tow mirror. That was the trick. ForSCAN no longer issued any errors and I was able to recalibrate in about 20 minutes. So the only feature I don't have is the extension/retraction. However, I do have the door's replacement switch panel, so if in the future I want to swap out the wiring harness, I could add that back.
For anyone else looking to do this swap with the currently listed Ford Tow Mirrors, you will have to swap to the newer cameras. That's the only issue and swapping these cameras took all of 20-30 minutes. I spent more time disassembling the sport mirrors than anything else.

RangerDoc - Glad you were able to make this upgrade. How involved was the mirror change out? I ask that as this is on my prep for a bigger camper to do list, which I will start addressing next month.
If you have 360 cameras, you'll possibly need to recalibrate. But if you swap the cameras first, then just check your 360 before moving on. Had I not put the old cameras in first, this may not have been an issue.
RangerDoc - As you mentioned details matter. Your replacement mirrors where OEM or after market?
Regarding number 3 of your original post, Ford wants you to take your truck to the Stealership for everything, but may sell you a digital service manually for a pricey price.

Mirrors are OEM. ForSCAN has everything I needed to get this done. I'm happy now, only missing one feature, but BLiS, 360, Puddle lights, Spot lights, turn signals, and parking all work flawlessly.
