That combo is perfectly fine with a WD hitch set up.

Can't speak to the trailer specs you posted, however I'd be concerned if they are as false as the truck specs you listed.
You may end up 1730 payload, but you need the sticker to prove that.
The 7000lb truck isn't the most equipped out there, there are a few more stout built trucks. That is definitely NOT a HD Tow Package. It is either "tow package" or "max tow", but not an HD truck. Could be a mis-use of words though, using HD interchangeably, not the Ford use of HD.
It is a little difficult to tell from the photo but I think it is a 5.5' bed. The space behind the rear wheels looks like my truck.

I will agree with an above post though that if your trailer never exceeds 6500lb, you should be okay, that's the sweet spot. My truck will top out around 8,000lb RV with the wak payload, but my truck is specd to tow 11,500 or something. Not a heavy-ass Lariat. haha

The Standard tie spec truck has straight tow height safety chain eyes, the HD or max tow has bent SC eyes.
I’d do the XLT if mileage is genuine. Look at date on tires. Betcha they tell you they’re factory original. If not someone’s swapped out tires or even wheels and tires

You’ll want 157” wheel base no less for towing if you want a chance to find a Heavy duty payload package.

the HDPP was in XL or low end XLT trims. Above that, all those fancy features cost you payload.

That trailer is pretty light. The 6.5 bed is nice but that truck is more than capable with a wd hitch it will hit all the ratings just fine.

That's a short bed/145 in wheelbase supercrew 4x4 with the 10 speed transmission and 3.55 electric lock rear axle. It's also a Canadian truck and not a US market truck. If you were able to get a good picture of the receiver, it could/should confirm that the truck is a Max Tow equipped truck. As others have said, it's definitely NOT a HDPP truck as that requires certain frame that aren't 145 in WB. The 2017, likely NOT max tow unless it came with 20" wheels, and it has 18" wheels), would have a max conventional tow weight of 10,700 lbs, gross COMBINED vehicle weight rating of 16,100 lbs.

The 12,200 lb tow capacity requires a 4x2 regular cab w/ 141 in WB, Max Tow package with the 3.5L EcoBoost motor. There is no 4x4 SuperCrew that can officially match this. A 145WB 4x2 Supercrew Max Tow comes close at 11,700 lbs.

doesn't matter. To get the highest payload rating requires the 157” WB frame. That’s fords requirements.

truck is a 2020 XLT 302A max tow package

trailer is a 2021 KZ sportsmen 270THLE. GVWR of 8800 lbs. 30’ long. That weight is no water on the trailer and nothing in the box and just my wife and I with a full tank of fuel.

Well it does matter because that truck is more than adequate to tow a 6500 trailer with a proper hitch set up.

Yep, that's a known fact about the truck. I was concerned about rust and checked the under carriage carefully. It's been undercoated. I was shocked when I did not see ANY rust except on the muffler.
