Default Reccomend me a trailer

Hi,

I'm looking to create a list of trailers that I will eventually purchase one from. If anyone knows of one that fits my needs, please let me know.

To haul my 5k lb jeep wrangler with my truck (important specs in sig), I'll need:
  • 5300+ lbs of payload
  • curb weight less than 1600 lbs
  • 82+ inches between the fenders
  • 14 or 16 feet in deck length
Here is a list that I have so far:
PJ trailer, 4’’ channel carhauler
http://bigtextrailers.com/70ch-tandem-axle-car-hauler/
http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/open-car-trailer
https://www.fthr.com/products/car-tr...82-car-trailer

Any other trailers that I should consider?

Thanks!

For that purpose, either of the aluminum trailers all day and twice on Sunday. Why? Torsion suspension. They just flat out ride better when loaded. Much less “chucking”. Yes they cost more, and steel trailers with wood decks do have some advantages. For example, the wood decks are much better for hauling sharp metal objects like skid steer attachments. However, for what you have stated, my money is on either of the aluminum trailers. Both of which are quality trailers I might add.

Is this math right?? "(GCWR - measured curb weight) = 9,243", the book list your truck as having a GCWR of 13,300 and max tow rating of 8,100 pounds.

Let's focus this thread on the choice of trailer.

With payload package, GCWR is 14300. Can you post a link of your source? Mine is the 2018 ford f150 brochure.

I was thinking of spring axles for the simplicity and long-term serviceability myself, since I'm not hauling anything sensitive that cares about ride quality.

The big tex...I've never been a big fan of PJ trailers. Theyre a little more cheaply made
