I don't know about "running the same as most", but it is very close to what I am running with my 5.4L. Very seldom does it ever shift into 6th gear when towing my travel trailer.
Maybe with a tailwind and a slight downgrade.

My TT is a 2014 Wilderness 2175 RB (26' overall length, 4,600 dry, 470 pounds tongue weight).

After 1,000 miles with travel trailer alone, and 660 miles double trailering, I find that sway control is necesary over 55 mph. The F-150 computer Sway Control works, but I find that it uses 2 mpg due to its use of computerized brake application for sway control.
I think the addition of hitch mounted sway control will solve the "lost mileage" problem.

I actually haven't had any sway that spooked me at all- yet. Even with the big double 53' blowing past me. You know what's funny? I find the guys blasting past me in the big jacked up bro-dozers move my trailer around more than the semis do.

Is that with the F-150 Sway Control "ON" or Sway Control "OFF"?

I use WDH sway control, but a couple of times I think the Ford computer may have saved our lives when extraordinary events occurred on high mountain roads. Really.

I have the same truck as the op. I'd love to have the transmission hold the 4th or 5th gear. Are there any tranny programmers that will NOT allow shifting out of a selected gear?

Unloaded highway I was about 17, 8-10 towing. I never checked in town mileage because it was depressing.

Without trailer:
18 to 20 mpg highway
13 mpg city

With trailer (highway only):
11 mpg with computer sway control switched OFF
9 mpg with computer sway control switched ON
