I was at the dealer perusing and the salesmen jumped me. he was talking about all the features and mentioned Pro Trailer Backup I told him it wouldn't work for me as I intended to tow a 5th wheel. He said no problem it works with 5th wheels. I didn't argue but later was thinking there is no way. The geometry is all wrong, the fulcrum is in front of where it's expected in the device. How would it calculate where to turn and how the trailer would rotate.

Am I wrong here, I say there is no way.

Have him get it in writing and if it doesn't work make him bring the cost down by x amount and use that a leverage hehe.

I'm sure there could be a set of options to change the pivot point and all the formulas to use a 5er...

But where would you put that little sticker that the camera reads?

I don't see how it would, its all mathematical and i didn't see any options to change hitch location or pivot point. Im sure ford could make it work, but as of now it doesn't.

Got a 2018 F-150 with tow. The doc clearly states that backup assist does not work with 5th wheel or gooseneck hitches.
Only conventional tow-behind trailors.
