Ah. Didn’t see any Canadian reference but that makes total sense! Just making sure my ::American:: 2018 HDPP Lariat was still a unicorn!

You know, makes me wonder about HDPP packages. If a Max Tow truck gets the same frame and max suspension and steering, would that not be considered the same? What GIVES Ford?!?!?

Max GCWR/Max Tow only achieved on SuperCrew® equipped with 20” Wheels. These trucks will also come equipped with max springs, steering gear and upgraded stabilizer bar for this configuration
So they make you pay $1500 for an elevated GVWR! I smell something, and it isn't good.

Mmmm not sure where that quote is from, but the wording is confusing. When browsing Ford packages, there is no package such “max GCWR/max tow”. We can find HDPP package and Max Tow package.

HDPP: • Heavy-Duty Shock Absorbers
• 3.73 Electronic-locking rear-axle
• 9.75” gear set
• 18-inch Silver Heavy-Duty Payload Package Wheels
• LT275/65R18C OWL A/T tires

Max tow: • 3.55 Electronic-locking rear-axle (3.73 Electronic-locking rear-axle with Heavy-Duty Payload Pkg.)
• 4-pin/7-pin wiring harness
• Class IV hitch receiver
• Smart Trailer Tow Connector
• Pro Trailer Backup Assist with Trailer Hook Up Light (optional on XL Base)
• Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
• Upgraded Front stabilizer bar
• Upgraded Rear bumper
• Engine Oil Cooler

Amazingly, the HDPP’s description does not mention stiffer springs ( 4 leaves instead of 3) too boost extra payload.
