Thanks for the responses everyone. I think I will go with the clip on mirrors for now. I would like to have the factory tow mirrors so I could keep blis, puddle lights etc but don't want to plunk down that much money for them. I may change my mind after towing with the clip ons.

I would encourage you to take a look at the Outdoors Rv trailers. They are very nice. We likely would have purchased the other trailer I posted if the sofa folded flat enough to sleep on. It doesn't show in pictures very well, but the back cushions are over stuffed so it is not a flat surface. Some of the higher trim trailers come with a fold out sleeper sofa that you can order in the trailer with or swap out.

I am just about to buy a 21 RBS as well.
Curious to hear how yours is working for you.
My tow vehicle is a 2014 F150 5.0 - should be able to handle it but I should would like to hear what your experience is.
To me it would seem the rise on the shank of the WD hitch will be significant, maybe so high the tail gate won't open ....
Anyway, hope to hear from you!

I have the trailer on order and scheduled to pick it up next Saturday. We wanted to get the newer style flush floor slide with the lighter interior color and that combo was not in stock at the dealer we went with (Apache in Portland). Worked out a pretty good package deal with the blue ox hitch, 6v batteries, slide topper, and max air vent fans. There was one one other dealer near me that had what we wanted but I saved a fair amount going with Apache, and there was something nice about ordering it and having a brand new trailer that hasn't been walked through by a bunch of people.

I am not sure about how the rise is going to work out with the hitch, but they are supposed to set it up for me when I pick up the trailer. I am a little worried about getting it set up because I have heard some people say that dealerships don't do a good job of it, and I will have 100 mike drive home from the dealer. I really hope I can open the tailgate with the hitch attached, but I am not holding my breath.

Where are you located/what dealers are you looking at? If you are in the PNW get a quote from Kevin at Apache. Seemed to be quite a bit cheaper than others I talked to with out a bunch of haggling. I would point out that they seem to order trailers without a few options that other dealers get them with (like the ones I added). That being said even after adding the options I save a $2500 or so over other dealers and got the hitch on top of it.

I will have more to report after pickup! I can't wait to go get it, and already have reservations for the weekend after pickup.

Awesome!!! Can't wait to hear about your first camping trip. We just spent a week at Lincoln City and loved it. Can't wait to get the trailer out again.

Cool - keep us posted on how it goes with the trailer, I hope it's all good!
I'm in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, west of Golden Colorado.
And, yes, I observe large disparity among prices from different dealers - I think that means they have a large markup on the trailers ...

I purchased the aftermarket manual fold/telescope tow mirrors online. Paid just over $427, shipped, and they were easy to install. Dealer quoted me over $800 for the OEM set! The aftermarket ones have the puddle lights and as far as I can tell are identical to the OEM ones.

And yes, another vote for the bunk house!

Well I picked up the trailer Saturday the 28th, and towed it 100 miles home. It towed great! I am not trying to say that I couldn't tell it was back there, but it pulled really well.

This past weekend we took it to the Oregon coast for the first trip. It towed over the hills to the coast really well and had plenty of power.

I stopped at a closed truck scale on the way back to check weights. I tightened up the blue ox hitch one chain link and transferred some more weight back to the front of the truck. Towing went from good to great. The front felt more planted and what little movement I felt before seemed to disappear.

After reading about all of the negative 2015+ F150 towing experiences I was a little nervous, but it seems like the trailer I got is a good fit for the truck.

Here a a couple of pics. Towing the trailer home, and then heading out with my dad and his Arctic Fox. Attachment 546827Attachment 546825Attachment 546826

Looks good!
Glad to hear it towed well for you.
We love the Oregon coast, best state park system we've ever seen, gorgeous country.
Appears to be towing level for you, and that's a big thing.
Two questions - does your tailgate still open?
And, what tires are you running?

I'm picking mine up this Saturday!

Thanks.

That is great you are picking yours up Saturday! You will love it! So far I have been really happy with the overall quality. Do you have to go far to get it?

The tailgate opens....just not all the way. It hits the tongue before it opens completely. I can still get stuff in and out but it's not easy. I am considered putting a small bumper of some sort on the tongue where the tailgate hits so I can rest it there and to protect the tailgate in case I accidentally drop it.

I am running the stock Goodyear wranglers. I pumped them up to 45 in the back and 42 in the front.
