A bad ITBC, hydraulic pressure sensor, or the wiring between will result in a no show for brake gain in the trailer screen while braking at speed.

And potentially unknown other factors, but that's what is needed to get brake output from the ITBC. You've got the last part of the equation, it sees the trailer brakes.
