Default New vs Old F150,F350

I will get right to it and I am not politically correct. I Tow Regularly a open flat bed trailer with a Tractor onboard total weight being pulled is about 9500 pounds . I own a 2012 F150 3.73 6 speed 3.7 Naturla Aspersion V6 and rwcently purchased a 1884 Very Clean F350 460 V8 4 speed manual . Other than Spring Rating the 2012 handles the load with way more control and withe acceleration being about the same . If i had to tow my setup 100 miles i would pick the 150 it is a much less tiring controlled experience. I do enjoy driving the old ford but so much has changed in 35 years in the handling dept. The steering is just too light on the older fords . In fact the 2012 handles the load better than my old 1996 302 and my last GMC 5.3 . I know I am over my Ford recommendation of tow weight but this is not what I am discussing here just the difference between new and old.

Trucks were engineered for function. Anyone have a bench seat, rubber floor and no radio or AC? Comfort and modern efficiencies changed everything we drive.

My 1977 came with a plush bench seat, thick carpet, radio, and AC. It was and still is comfortable. I enjoy towing with it.
