Default New truck problems

Ok so last night I hooked up to a buddies enclosed trailer. Light all work but my truck says trailer disconnected. Push the brake controller and it shows that the brakes are working while I'm not driving, until I push the lever all the way then it just says trailer disconnected, I checked the battery on the trailer and it shows 12 volts..... Band new truck and I am having a issue

I think there is a fuse and a relay that you have to install, but I don't know where they go. Mine were in the door pocket in a plastic bag, but I didn't install them yet.

I think the fuse goes in the interior fuse box in the passenger foot well, and the relay goes in the fuse box under the hood, but I'm not sure of this.

The fuse and relay go in the fuse center under the hood but they're for the charge line to the trailer battery and have nothing to do with the brake controller.

Is there another vehicle you can connect the trailer to and see if it's a trailer issue?

Start going through the trailer brake wiring. These new trucks are so sensitive that if the trailer's brakes and wiring are not perfect it won't allow the TBC to work. Even if the wiring is good the brake magnets can affect the system from working.

I would look at the trailer wiring plug and make sure the connections are clean. If the plug is a loose fit the connections will be poor and you will get that error message
